The Yard Tasks webinar highlighted how Opendock’s Yard Management System (YMS) helps warehouses replace manual coordination methods like radios and whiteboards with a digital, trackable workflow. Yard Tasks provide real-time visibility into yard moves, improve accountability for drivers, and create a clearer picture of yard performance through task tracking and reporting. 

Today, teams can create and assign yard move tasks, track progress in real time through the Yard Driver App, and automatically update asset locations once tasks are completed. Managers gain better control over yard activity, while drivers get a simple, mobile-first experience focused on execution. 

Looking ahead, Opendock shared upcoming enhancements including in-task messaging, event logs, issue reporting, expanded task management from list view, new “check tasks” for inspections and inventory checks, and performance dashboards for task completion and driver productivity. These improvements aim to further streamline yard operations and support more automation across dock, gate, and yard workflows.
