Opendock September 2025 Release Notes

This month’s release brings powerful new features and refinements across Opendock — making dock scheduling, yard visibility, and driver check-in smoother, faster, and more connected than ever.

New Features

YMS

Yard Tasks: Moves

This release introduces the foundation of Yard Tasks, a major step toward full yard activity management within Opendock.

With this initial release, we’re launching Yard Moves — structured tasks designed for moving trailers, containers, or other assets within your yard. These moves can now be created, assigned, and tracked directly from the new Task Management tab in the YMS, giving your team real-time visibility into what’s happening across the yard.

To make execution seamless, we’ve also launched the Yard Driver App, where drivers can view assigned tasks, update statuses, and complete moves directly from their mobile devices — ensuring accurate, real-time updates without radio calls or manual coordination.

While this release focuses on move-type tasks, we’re already working on the next evolution: Yard Checklists — a more open-ended task type designed for activities like maintenance checks, pre-loading, inspections, and other non-move workflows.

Together, these features will bring task automation, accountability, and visibility to every part of yard operations.

Edit Visit Type (YMS) — Users can now modify visit types directly for improved yard data accuracy.

Container Owner Field — Introduced container ownership tracking for better visibility across shared yards.
We've also added more information to the List View/Inventory:

1) Asset Owner: tracks owner of the asset (carrier or vendor)
2) Drop-off Carrier: Carrier that dropped of the asset via Gate Management (driver check-in)
3) Pick Up Carrier: Carrier on the future Pick Up Appointment for the container/trailer

Gate Management + YMS Integration — You can now update the carrier for asset visits without appointments, ensuring record consistency.

Gate

Driver Check-in Company Selector — Drivers can now select existing carrier companies during check-in for faster, more accurate processing.

SmartGate

Frontend Tag Fixes for Vehicle Observations — Improved handling of tags for subspace events to prevent data mismatches.

Scheduling

New Load Type Directions (Inbound/Outbound) — Added explicit inbound/outbound definitions for clearer scheduling visibility.
