[Opendock] How to Use Yard List View (Inventory) in Opendock YMS

Opendock's Yard List View offers a comprehensive and organized way to manage all assets currently in your yard. From here, you can search, filter, and update assets to maintain complete control over yard operations.

✅ Accessing List View

1. Navigate to Live Yard View from the left-side menu.
2. Select "List View" at the top of the yard interface.

The List View displays a table of all assets currently in the yard, including:

• Trucks
• Trailers
• Containers

Each asset record includes key information such as asset ID, location, status, timestamps, and more.

✅ Searching and Filtering Assets

The search functionality allows you to quickly find any asset based on information tied to it. You can search by:

• Container/Trailer Number
• Area or Spot Name
• Status
• Carrier
• And more!

This makes it easy to locate specific assets without manually scrolling through the grid.

✅ Customizing the View

• Order or Reorder Columns: Drag and drop columns to arrange them in an order that makes the most sense for your workflow.
• Sort by Key Fields: Sort assets based on attributes like how long they've been in the yard, current status, or location.
• New columns (pilot): For warehouses in the Brazil pilot, four additional columns are now selectable:
  • Time Since Last Assignment — how long it's been since the asset was last assigned to a spot. This is left blank for assets that have never been assigned to a spot.
  • Check-In Custom Fields — any custom check-in field can now be added as its own column, including fields marked Visible to All, Driver only, or Warehouse only.
  • Asset Status and Asset Status Date — see the current status and exactly when it was last updated, without opening the asset record.

Tip: Sorting by "Time in Yard" is especially useful to identify assets that have been sitting too long and may require attention.
 

✅ Updating Asset Statuses

Within List View, you can also directly update asset statuses without needing to switch back to grid view.

1. Locate the asset in the list.
2. Use the status dropdown to update its current state, such as: Arrived, Loading, Unloading, Ready for Pick Up, Departed.

This provides a quick and efficient way to keep all asset records accurate.

✅ Switching Back to Grid View

To return to the visual yard map, click the arrow icon in the upper corner of the List View. This will bring you back to the Grid View, showing the physical location of the asset within the yard.

A: Not yet — they're currently rolling out to warehouses in the Brazil pilot. Broader availability will follow.

Q: Why is "Time Since Last Assignment" blank for some assets?
A: That column stays blank for assets that have never been assigned to a spot.

Q: Can I choose which check-in custom fields show as columns?
A: Yes, once the feature is enabled for your warehouse, you can select any check-in custom field — including Visible to All, Driver only, or Warehouse only fields — to display as a column.

Q: Can I still switch between List View and Grid View at any time?
A: Yes, use the arrow icon in the upper corner of List View to return to Grid View at any time.
