What Is the Task Board?

  • Updated

This article explains what the new Task Board is and how to use it to make CarrierTMS more predictive, intuitive, and supportive. The Task Board provides helpful, system-generated suggestions based on real data, making it easier for new and seasoned dispatchers alike to stay ahead of issues.

What Is the Task Board?

The Task Board is a smart interface within CarrierTMS that helps dispatchers identify and act on potential issues in real time. By analyzing your ongoing and recently delivered loads, the system detects problems that may require attention before they escalate.

Instead of requiring dispatchers to search through multiple screens or rely on experience alone, CarrierTMS now proactively surfaces key operational issues in the form of actionable tasks.

What Kind of Tasks Will You See?

The Task Board suggests tasks based on real-time operational insights and is completed once the correct action is performed, making that task appearing on the completed tasks box.

Here you have some examples:

  • Missing Documents After Delivery: If a load is marked as delivered but the required documents haven’t been uploaded within a certain timeframe, upload the documents directly via the task card or proactively chat with the driver to ensure timely completion.

  • Possible Detention: When a driver checks in at a stop but hasn’t checked out after an extended period, contact the driver to understand the delay or engage with the facility to help resolve the issue and avoid detention charges.

  • Possible Lateness: If the remaining transit time is not enough to meet the scheduled delivery appointment based on the truck’s current location, reach out to the facility to reschedule or coordinate an alternative solution before the delivery becomes late.
  • Inactive Tracking: When a truck with active ELD integration hasn’t sent tracking updates for several hours, investigate the ELD system’s functionality or check the truck’s profile settings to restore live tracking and maintain visibility.

These insights empower your dispatch team to prevent service disruptions and protect your relationships with brokers and shippers.

Don’t hesitate to contact us for more information or if you need any help with the Task Board.
