The Custom Fields feature allows you to create customized fields that may be unique to your company’s shipments. These fields allow you to input and edit values manually through the user interface. Additionally, this data can later be leveraged for reporting purposes.
Custom fields are only visible to shipper users and are not made public and meant for internal usage, ensuring privacy from carriers and third parties.

Note on Best Practices for Reporting:
To get the best experience in any future analysis of your custom field values we recommend following best practices:
- Keep consistency in usage
- The more consistent and frequent the data is entered the better the analysis will be.
- Keep field names consistent text-wise.
- E.g. if you entitled a field “Customer Rate”, if for some reason you delete this field and re-create it again, use the same formatting as before, i.e. you shouldn’t name it “customer rate” or “customer_rate” or “cust. rate”
- Keep field values consistent datawise
- E.g. when typing numbers or dates, try to keep these as interpretable by a machine as possible. Avoid using special characters, dollar signs, commas, or other unexpected characters for the field you are typing.
