[Single Sign On (SSO)] Warehouse Groups

Introducing "Warehouse Groups" Feature for Enhanced SSO Provisioning

We are excited to introduce a new feature called "Warehouse Groups" designed to streamline the management of warehouse access within your organization. This feature is now available under My Organization > Warehouse Groups.

Note: Warehouse Groups is accessible exclusively to Owners and Unrestricted Admins.

What is Warehouse Groups?

The "Warehouse Groups" feature allows you to create groups of warehouses and manage them collectively. By clicking on "Create Warehouse Group," you can form a new group and associate various warehouses with it.

Why is it Useful?

This feature is particularly useful in the context of Single Sign-On (SSO) Provisioning. It simplifies the process of restricting user access to specific warehouses by offering a more manageable and intuitive approach.

Configuring Provisioning

When configuring SSO provisioning, admins now have three options to restrict a user's access:

  1. All Warehouses: Grants access to all current and future warehouses.
  2. Specific Warehouses: A comma-separated list of UUIDs of specific warehouses.
  3. Warehouse Groups: Instead of UUIDs, you can specify the names of warehouse groups, separated by commas.

Note: You can use either the names of groups or a list of UUIDs, but not both simultaneously.

For example, you can create a group called "West Coast," which includes warehouses "Los Angeles," "San Francisco," and "San Diego." When configuring SSO, you can simply use "West Coast" instead of listing the individual UUIDs of these three warehouses.

Additional Information

A warehouse can belong to multiple groups without any restrictions, providing flexibility in how you organize and manage your warehouses.

By leveraging the "Warehouse Groups" feature, you can enhance the efficiency of your SSO provisioning process and ensure better control over warehouse access within your organization.
