Edit Shipments

Shipments booked with your carrier network are fully editable regardless of shipment status. All sections of the shipment can be updated as needed. 

1. On your left dashboard, click Shipments.

2. Select the shipment you wish to edit, this will open the Shipment Details page.

3. Click .

4. Scroll down through your shipment to edit the necessary details. Each part of the shipment is broken into sections. The sections will contain editable fields that can be updated to reflect any changes necessary for your shipment.

Freight Information contains the fields to edit the shipment reference numbers. Here you can edit the following fields:

• Choose the equipment (drop down menu)
• PO number
• SO number
• BOL number
• Reference number
• Equipment length
• Power Only (Yes/No)
• Hazmat (Yes/No)

Custom Field section can be edited if custom fields were established prior to creating your shipment. Please see this article for steps on how to create your custom fields.

Note this information will not be shared with your carrier at any time.

Lane contains the details of the shipment route. Edit the pickup, delivery locations or dates. Add an additional stop to your shipment here if needed.

Carrier section expands down and contains the booked carrier details. Here you are able to add the driver detail if available from the carrier.

Pickup Details section expands down and contains the pickup location information. Here you can add the facility contact, facility instructions, and add the shipping item details.

Shipping Items found within the Shipping Details section houses the pallet and commodities detail. 

Click to expand the section and add the details for the items that are being shipped.

This section will expand to inform the following fields:

• Handling Unit
• H/U Count (Handling Unity Quantity)
• Stackable (check box)
• Turnable (check box)
• Length
• Width
• Height
• Set the Weight (drop down)
  • Total Weight
  • Per H/U
• Delivery at (drop down)
  • If additional stops, the user will have the option to inform which stop.

Commodity Details:

• Description
• Total Comm. Weight
• Total Comm. Count
• Package (drop down)
• Hazmat (check box)
• NMFC
• Class (drop down)

Delivery Details section expands down and contains the delivery location information. Here you can add the facility contact and facility instructions.

5. Click . Shipment updates will be synced to the BOL document. Also, shipment updates will be available on the BOL document on the carrier's shipment details page.

Edit Shipments booked with Loadsmart

Select Shipment fields are editable once a load has been booked with Loadsmart. We advise you to reach out to Support (https://community.loadsmart.com/hc/en-us) or your Loadsmart Representative as soon as possible to edit or update any price sensitive fields.

Price sensitive fields include: Equipment Type, Pickup/Delivery Dates, and Pickup/Delivery Facility.

1. Follow steps outlined in Edit Shipments to edit a booked Loadsmart shipment. 

2. The following Shipment fields can be edited:

• Freight Information
  • Choose the equipment (drop down)
  • PO Number
  • SO Number
  • BOL Number
  • Reference Number
  • Equipment length (drop down)
  • Power Only (Yes/No)
  • Hazmat (Yes/No)
• Pickup Details expands to edit Shipping Items
  • Handling Unit
  • H/U Count
  • Stackable (check box)
  • Tunable (check box)
  • Length
  • Width
  • Height
  • Set the Weight (drop down)
  • Deliver at (drop down)
  • Description
  • Total comm. Weight
  • Total comm. Count
  • Package (drop down)
  • Hazmat (check box)
  • NMFC
  • Class (drop down)

3. Click .

Edit Shipments in Quoting Status

If editing a shipment in Quoting status, updating price sensitive fields will require the shipment to be re-quoted for the most accurate Loadsmart Instant Book rate.

Price sensitive fields include: Equipment Type, Pickup/Delivery Dates, and Pickup/Delivery Facility.

1. Edit shipment in Quoting status using the same steps under Edit Shipments.

2. Click .

The Shipment List will also link you to the Quote Details. Click under “Carrier Assignment to access the Quote Details page.

3. From the Quote Details page, select the Loadsmart rate and click .

Please note: The listed price for Loadsmart will not automatically update until it is re-quoted from the Checkout page. The rate displayed on the Quote Details page for Loadsmart after a shipment has been updated will not always reflect the new rate.

4. Click .

5. Proceed to checkout with Loadsmart by clicking or to compare carrier rates.
