In Shipper Guide, users can select the default fuel surcharge type when requesting proposals from carriers. By setting the fuel surcharge, whenever quoting and tendering a contracted rate, if a carrier submits a line haul rate, we will use the configured fuel surcharge for the respective mode to get to a final all-in rate (with fuel) using the mileage of the shipment.
To set the default fuel surcharge:
1. Click located on the upper right corner of your page.
2. On your Settings page, click Procurement.
3. Under Fuel Surcharge, select:
- for carriers to provide proposed rates with the cost of fuel
- for carriers to provide proposed rates without fuel
4. Enter your fuel surcharge rate depending on the mode for the contract or RFP you created.
