Opendock Now Speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and French Canadian
As Opendock continues to grow internationally, we’re committed to making the platform more accessible to users around the world. One common challenge we’ve heard from customers is the language barrier — so we’re excited to announce that Opendock now supports Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Canadian French!
What’s New?
We’ve added language translations to both the Warehouse Portal and the Scheduling Portal. This update helps non-English speakers navigate the platform more easily and work more efficiently.
How to Change Your Language
To update your preferred language:
- Go to Profile
- Select Language
- Choose from English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), or French (Canada)
Your selected language will apply across the platform for your account.
Carrier Email Translations
Carrier-facing emails — including appointment confirmations and the calendar (.ics) invite — can now be delivered in Spanish (Mexico), French (Canada), or Brazilian Portuguese, covering all 13 carrier email types.
To receive emails in one of these languages, a carrier must have a preferred language set on their carrier profile. If no preferred language is set, or the account isn't yet enrolled in translated email delivery, emails are sent in English by default.
Note: This applies only to carrier-facing emails. Warehouse-facing notifications — including activation emails, invitations, yard/YMS alerts, and reports — remain English-only at this time.
Important Note
Translations apply only to static content – such as menus, buttons, and instructions. Dynamic content like Dock Names, Load Types, or any custom-entered text will remain as originally entered, regardless of the language selected.

FAQ
Q: Which languages does Opendock support?
A: English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Canadian French, across both the platform UI and (for carriers) email.
Q: Will my custom-entered Dock Names and Load Types be translated?
A: No — dynamic content like Dock Names, Load Types, and any custom-entered text stays as originally entered, regardless of language selected.
Q: I set my preferred language, but my emails are still in English — why?
A: Both conditions must be met: your organization needs the "new email engine" enabled, and you need a preferred language set on your profile. If either is missing, emails default to English.
Q: Are warehouse-facing emails translated too?
A: Not currently — activation, invitations, yard/YMS emails, reports, and alerts for warehouse users remain English-only.
Q: Is the calendar invite (.ics file) translated?
A: Yes — it's translated along with the appointment email it's attached to, when the carrier's language conditions are met.
