Restricting User Access

  • Updated

Users can now be restricted to specific warehouse locations (called a "Warehouse Access List"). This can be done when inviting or editing a user on the Users page.

Note:

  1. Only Owners and Admins can invite/update/delete other Warehouse Restricted Admins, Operators, and Attendants. .
  2. Only the Admin, Operator, and Attendant user roles can have a Warehouse Access List
    • Owners and Spectators cannot be restricted by Warehouse; they will have access to all locations.
  3. Restricted users will still be allowed "View Only" permission on all other warehouses outside of their Warehouse Access List.
    • Read/Viewing restrictions will become available in the next iteration of this feature (coming soon!).

The Users Page will now display the user's Warehouse Access List:

Scenario 1: Restricted Admins

  • A Warehouse Restricted Admin can only manage the warehouse locations (Operating Hours, Load Types, Docks, etc.) that they are assigned to but they are not allowed to create new locations or delete any locations.

  • Restricted Admins are not allowed to manage Org Settings, Org Load Types, or Billing Info.

  • Restricted Admins can only invite and update other users that have the exact same or strict subset of their warehouse access list.
    • A Restricted Admin can also invite an Unrestricted Spector but will not be able to edit or delete any Spectators.

Scenario 2: Restricted Operators

A Warehouse Restricted Operator can still perform the same actions as an Unrestricted Operator but only in the Warehouses they are assigned to. For example:

  • Create, update, and cancel appointments
  • Create and delete recurring appointments and reserves
  • Create new carrier contacts and carrier companies
  • Read-only visibility in the warehouses they do not belong to

Scenario 3: Restricted Attendants

A Warehouse Restricted Attendant can still perform the same actions as an Unrestricted Attendant but only in the Warehouses they are assigned to. For example:

  • View and edit appointments
  • Read-only visibility in the warehouses they do not belong to
